Fresh Sound’s fiscal year is July 1-June 30
Grants are made 1x per year in the spring for the upcoming fiscal year.
Letters of Inquiry and/or request for proposals are by invitation only and go out in the first quarter of the calendar year.

Any questions, reach out to Jennifer Sanders at

Unsolicited proposals will not be reviewed. The first step in the process after receiving the invitation is to send an LOI, a two-page letter of inquiry describing your organization, intended project, anticipated costs, and tax-exempt status.

Applicants will be contacted regarding the Foundation’s interest. An application will be sent once the LOI has been screened and accepted. Grantmaking decisions are made in October. Organizations will be notified shortly thereafter.

The Foundation operates on a yearly cycle. Organizations may only submit one application per year. Proposals received after the closing date for grant applications will not be considered.

Within ten months of receipt of a grant, all grantees must provide a report to the Foundation accounting for how the grant has been used, evaluation of outcomes, and lessons learned.
