Laurie BurtLaurie Burt is president of Laurie Burt, LLC, providing independent strategic advice on climate, clean energy, environmental and equity policies to non-profits, foundations, businesses and government throughout the country. Laurie is a former commissioner of the MA Department of Environmental Protection, where as vice chair of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), she championed the nation’s first multi-state carbon trading program. Since, Laurie has served as Project Coordinator for the independent RGGI Project Series, which has sponsored numerous non-partisan, expert reports on the economic, public health and environmental impacts of RGGI, electricity market trends in the Northeast and innovative state and place-based climate policies. Ms. Burt has practiced environmental law for over 30 years in the private and public sectors, is a member of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and serves on the CERES President’s Council and CERES Board DEI Committee, and is a board member of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
